Three weeks in Rome for work? Great.

Three weeks in Rome at the start of the American football season? No way.

My editor-in-chief didn't seem to care about my opinion and sent me anyway, and I found myself in an unexpected mess - like I broke my cardinal-rule-kind-of-mess never fall for a player.

He was an athlete. An Italian superstar. A Casanova.

Those were three strikes in my book.

But I kissed him! The Marco Valenti. In all fairness, I didn't know who he was at the time, but still, I was there to write his story . . . and then he shocked the world by announcing his retirement the very next day. (That wasn't my fault, by the way. I swear.)

The mysterious Italian was going to get me into so much trouble - including breaking my heart.

The Story of Us edition by Brittney Sahin Literature Fiction eBooks

4.5 for me. Good story and I love all things Italian, Well edited - nothing glaring to cause a hiccup in the flow of the story.

Maggie writes sports for a men's magazine. She is assigned a story about Marco - a soccer superstar. She has rules, most notably no dating athletes. Marco is very reserved, sharing next to nothing about his personal life. How can Maggie write an article about a man who won't answer questions? And how exactly is she supposed to change his mind about retiring when she doesn't even like soccer? Maggie meets Marco before she knows he is Marco, and sparks fly. So much so, she kisses him in the heat of the moment. Surprise for both of them when they see each other at a press conference the next day. From there, they embark on a tug-of-war between their brains and their hearts. Which will come out the winner?

Both characters are really likable. Marco keeps everything close to the vest, but he has depth of character that is quite touching. Really light, enjoyable read.

The Story of Us edition by Brittney Sahin Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

i fell in love with Italian Football star Marco Valenti. Great storyline with many ups and downs. There is mystery and passion throughout. I was pulling for Maggie & Marco through the entire story . I highly recommend this well wtitten book.
This was an enjoyable storyline from the very first page. The characters were exceptionally well-written and I enjoyed how the author developed the romance and suspense throughout this story.
Definitely a five-star rating, this was an exceptional story.
I love a good sports romance. Usually the H is an arrogant manwhore jerk. But Marco was only two of those three things! Still, he had me swooning more than once . Great author, I will be checking out her other work as soon as I finish typing this.
Blown away by Sahin's first contemporary romance. I think I smiled while reading the majority of this book - When I wasn't on the edge of my seat. Jeez! What do you say about a book that keeps a piece of your heart at the end?
Marco. Oh, Marco. The Italian every woman would be lucky to love. I normally don't get into romances involving athletes as they tend to border on the line of cheesy. Sahin pushed back that line for me. I found Marco to be believable, human with real issues, sensitive, charming... Adorable.
Maggie. I wanted to be her friend. She had an endearing personality and I can't get over her witty, one-liners. I literally laughed out loud several times. She certainly found herself in an almost impossible position to be in. Her budding affection for Marco was tested on several occasions - usually at the hands of someone else. Trust is something they both are faced with at each turn of events that causes them to question each other's loyalty.
I don't want to say really anything detailed because I went in, not knowing what to expect, and was completely sucked in to the romance of Rome and two Heart's of people looking for each other and not realizing it. Beautiful. Inspiring. Brilliant. This heartwarming romance is a must read.
I don't like soccer and I loved this book! The book uses soccer as the background since the setting is in Rome and deals with a professional athlete. It was hard to put this book down when needed as the many layers to Marco were revealed. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a good romance with heartfelt characters and a well written story.
I absolutely loved this book. It was recommended to me by a friend and I AM NOT a sports person. The fact that it had to do with sports... I almost didn't read it. Turns out it was a fantastic book! The pace was nice and steady; I never got bored. Usually I am a really slow reader, but I literally was under the covers reading it so I wouldn't wake my spouse up with the light of my phone at the early morning hours. Could not put it down.
Brittney immediately connects you with the characters and makes you fall in love with what the have. I loved Maggie's character and the respect she had for Marco. This book really takes you into the life of someone else and lets you walk in their shoes while finding the true meaning of all the little things in life and what is most important.
I loved Forever Rome! I cried in all the right places! I swooned. I sighed. I smiled!

Brittney writes the tension, body language and tells between the main characters very well! I had a strong sense of both Maggie the journalist and Marco the athlete, and they were a blast to read and get to know.

Marco is NOT your typical athlete. He surprised me, and I loved his quiet but endearing personality … and his accent! I could hear him speaking to me in Italian! Christo!

The nerd that I am, I enjoyed the Superman references in the novel — star of the book, Maggie Lane (a nod to Lois), and even a sighting of The Man of Steel himself at a charity gala. Ahem…

Ultimately though, it was the theme of Brittney's story that I carried with me long after the final page. I won't tell you what it is. Read. The. Book. Look inside... Trust me.
